Danny told me he worked with Gwen today and she hit him! Some rude comment about her hands I bet, he really should watch his tongue. I spent most of my day in Sickbay, after seeing what the Nutritional Units would do with a Sauzris.

I had to admit, I've gotten a little scared. Transporters are down now, and 6 shuttles aren't working. Chief is rotating the partners that we work with based on a list that Captain gave him. Worked with Danny today, he's such a laugh, we had a right old time squashed in the systems tubes. I'm surprised we got out of those tubes in one piece. Oh must remember to send that song to his consul.

Chief had a meeting with the Captain today, and came back with the order that nobody work alone. So was paired with Gwen all day. Now, don't get me wrong, I am all for interuniversal recruits, but with 4 arms she does tend to repair stuff quicker than me - most embarrassing.

You'd think they'd give us a decent ship before we set out into the universe. Subphonic drive is down, comms is down, and the nutritional units are making celery bad for your heart.

Finally chief let me get my laser iron out today and was able to repair a few loose connections. Didn't need to spend the weekend in the Sports Lounge this time, lost calories running around like a headless chicken.

Wow, that was a busy and bad day. Chief pulled me off from the Nutritional Units as our comms failed. Completely blacked out. Everybody is in panic because they have to run around passing messages backwards and forwards. I thought it would be better to have "runners" to do the messages, instead of engineers leaving stations, which Chief thought was a good idea. So I've been running all afternoon. Next time Mulder, keep your mouth shut.

Captain's parked us in orbit over Trelos 4. We've all stocked up with Sauzris, which is a Treling delicacy. Tastes like, well tastes like Chicken. But its got almost zero calories. Cool!

Day 2 of the Nutritional Units. I've checked about 40 units so far.  Chief went and checked the Captains and I said if he found something, I would eat my hat. He told me it might be better for me anyway. The hat is safe, he found nothing.

Well that's the answer then, was given an assignment today to help analyse the Nutritional Units. They've been converting carbohydrates into fat! I've taken apart a few units now and can't see anything wrong with them.

Something's not quite right. Spent most of my "weekend" training in the Sports Lounge, and when I weighed myself today, I've not lost anything.

Just got back from duty, and now have a 60 hour break from "official" duty. The rotation of everybody on this ship is pretty clever, it's like we get a weekend break but while we are on board, our weekends are all staggered so there are always plenty on shift. The only time that gets cancelled is when we go on alert, then it's all hands to stations.. oh damn, gotta go..

It's ok, captain was "testing our metal" he was impressed with our immediate response and told us to go back to normal status. Sleep is my first priority before hitting the sports lounge.

Managed to look out of a window as we engaged the subphonic drive. Wow, to see those planets go past like they were junctions off a highway, was facinating. Neptune and back in 45 mins. Chief said we were restricted like a speed limit in our solar system, so will be interesting to see how fast we go on our first mission.

Grief, we're still in Space Port and it's my fault. The junctions looked so similar, not sure chief DuMond is impressed with me. He smoothed it over with Captain though!

I am so tired. I hope I get more than 5 hours sleep tonight. They got me working on the engine core later, something to do with the subphonic drive. The chief told me that all ensigns should be able to repair a ship in an emergency in case all commanders were held hostage. Got to go, being called to the engine room now.

I can't believe it. First day on the ship and I thought I'd get chance to have a tour. They said it'd be exciting, but I was stuffed in some cramped systems tube testing circuits. I'll have 5 hours sleep and I've got to be up again for the next shift. Yeah, exciting.
