Stardate: 203321

Something wierd is going on. We tried to beam over but our transporters were blocked! It takes some power to do that, which means they don't have a power problem. I've come back to look up some information on what could cause...

Stardate: 203320

We've been briefed that the GE-Storm has suffered major power failure. It's like that the plasma cells have died away to be that badly affected. We only saw her a while back in the fleet when she was helping to deflect the Asteroid, as she's the same model as our ship. I'll organise a few to beam over to help.

Stardate: 203319

Looks like the games might get cancelled. We’ve been given a Mission and half of the participants in the games have been called into duty. That was quite funny in the Powerball competition when one of the opponents left halfway, leaving the other team member to fight off 2 burly Powerball strikers! Gwen’s in one of the games in a couple of days, so it will be interesting to see how she gets on. I think she has a big advantage, but let’s hope the games continue – should be a good laugh!

Stardate: 203318

No chance to watch the games today, Chief wanted some of the plasma manifolds checked as he had been getting a couple of bad readings from the sensors. My team's working on it now.

Stardate: 203317

Wow, the games have been steaming along. They've been doing strength based games without jet assistance, which has been interesting. You suddenly realise just how heavy stuff is when the gravity matrix is on full.

Stardate: 203316

The games started today and it's been busy for all those not taking part. I'll try and take a look in later, but apparently the 400m holodash went well.

Stardate: 203315

Its tomorrow. I don’t think I’ll enter into the games myself. Chief thinks we should enter as a team on some event but to be honest, I’d probably let the side down. Not unless they start plasma games..

Stardate: 203314

We got a memo from the Chief reminding us (for those who forgot) that it’s the Annual Sports Lounge Championship in a couple of days.  Security has been tightened around the holomem consuls and any engineer working in the same sector as the Sports Lounge cannot work alone. Any found working alone are immediately suspended from duty!  I thought it was all about taking part and enjoying yourself, but it’s a serious event!

Stardate: 203313

Well after yesterday's excitement, we had a party and now I have a subphonic headache. I wish the Doc would give me the cure, but in her words "you won't learn from it if you don't suffer from it". I swear she enjoys watching us wince whenever we hear a loud noise. The Tracker has left to return to base, as they have to explain this experiment somehow.

Stardate: 203312

I can't get my head around this. Today, Krona suddenly appeared through the Teleport, right into engineering. We made such a huge noise, that we didn't notice Captain walk in as he teleported back. It all went quiet for a few moments until Captain broke into a smile and started shaking everybody's hand! I thought we were in for it then, the amount of protocols we've broken!

Stardate: 203311

Ha ha!! Chief was running around engineering taking various items from the crew. We were reasonably self contained in our amusement until he suddenly presented us with a subphonic backup drive with the GE Tracker ID Code on it!  I have NEVER heard the crew go mental like they did today!! WHOOHHOO!!

Stardate: 203310

Chief had a quiet word with the pilot and we’re currently at subphonic speed with only about 80m between us. At this speed the two pilots are doing a mighty fine job at keeping us apart. Chief keeps “borrowing” various food items from the crew. Apparently if the experiment goes wrong we could all end up like monkeys. Funny that.

Stardate: 203309

Engineering is in "lock down" from personnel who are not involved with this experiment. I've managed to slip in, thanks to Gwen, and to be honest, Krona's got some cracking Algorithms in place. This is going to be fun!

Stardate: 203308

We’re heading out for a quiet area of space to try this experiment out. Captains found a place on the sensors where we can have a big expanse of travelling without much course change. This could be interesting.

Gwen has been involved in setting things up this end, she told me how clever Krona was, and good looking and stuff. Not that it bothers me. Although I did get a higher score in the plasma exam than him.

Stardate: 203307

It was a success!! And a big relief for everybody involved. There’s a party happening down on the surface and everybody is invited!

However, Krona is desperate to try out his experiment. He told me what it was, and to be honest it could be pretty cool if it works. He made me swear not to say anything until it’s public knowledge and told me explicitly to not put it in my logs for some reason, so I will honour it. He’s going to get his name on this if it works.

Stardate: 203306

Oh My Word. It’s looking bigger as it gets closer. According to calculations, we’re going to be able to channel this asteroid with the Nidus dishes. If it fails, 30 of the fleet could go missing.

On a lighter note, Krona sent me a message to say that his team have been working on something that their captain wants to try out if our ships are still intact. He’s not telling me the secret, but I’ll worm it out of him, he owes me a few favours!

Stardate: 203305

We all had a big meeting this morning and we have just 24 hours before the Asteroid is in position, heading toward T-Minor, so all rest periods have been cancelled and we’re on full alert. Our Plasma team have been reconfiguring the Nidus dish as this is going to play a role in this..

Stardate: 203304

You know, I’ve never seen “T-Minor” until now. And now why they put the Minor bit on the end. It’s a small planet and according to the databanks only has about 300,000 inhabitants, but looking out of the window, it’s in danger. So 30 ships, 300,000 people – looks like each of us are responsible for the lives of 10,000 people. That’s quite a solemn thought.

Stardate: 203303

We're off, and it's the most impressive site to see out of the windows, and on the navigational systems. 30 ships, all in fleet format around our ship, which is taking the lead. Word is that our Captain is in charge of this fleet, and to be honest I feel a little proud to serve under his command. T-Minor, here we come!

Thursday, 4 December 2008

Stardate: 203302

Abbreviation seems to be the word of the day, as it looks like we're heading out to Trephiliacora Minor. We've had a few challenges amongst the RibbleQlock's who can't seem to say Trephiliacora properly, so we've condensed it to T-Minor for their benefit. To be honest, it's easier for the rest of us too!

Stardate: 203301

I can’t believe how many ships have arrived here in the last few hours.  My comms panel has been going absolutely crazy with messages from old buddies from the Academy.  Qiz, Krona, Harry, Jon E & Yaz have all sent me messages hoping we can meet up at the end of our Mission, so it could be a major party if we are successful.

Tuesday, 2 December 2008

Stardate: 203300

Apparently we’re going to be together as a fleet for a certain Mission. I’ve got my plasma team on double shifts, because I get the feeling we’ll be doing something that will put a strain on the ship.  Not sure how many will be in the fleet, but it will be good to catch up with some of my old academy mates.

Stardate: 203299

Got something happening this week, according to Chief – but as usual, he’s keeping his cards close to his chest. I’m starting to understand that now that I am a Junior grade officer. Probably find out tomorrow.
